1 year after my purchase, I did my first filter change. While going through the very simple exercise of changing the filter, I realized how pleased and happy I still am with this product and the customer care experience.I ordered the replacement filter through Amazon Prime which many of you know is the easiest and the ultimate in high speed convenient shopping and high customer service standards, but that's Amazon. It's from the time I received the filter two days later that I was realizing how good the WaterChef experience is for customers.First, the outer packaging was high quality, efficient, and even aesthetically pleasing to the eye (not a requirement by any means for a water filter, but it does add to the overall "quality experience" of owning this water system). It securely holds and protects the filter, yet it's easy to open.Once you open the box, you see a very simple, well-written and easy to follow instruction leaflet including diagrams which includes everything I needed to know to exchange the filter properly. They took the time and effort needed to write the instructions in a properly helpful and clear manner. There is also a very clearly-written separate leaflet telling you exactly how to contact WaterChef if you have any problems or questions.Then you see the water filter, which is securely clear-plastic wrapped to ensure a sanitary product.It was at this point that I realized they ALSO include a replacement battery preloaded in a battery tray which you instantly can swap out with the old battery (this battery powers the filter life indicator). I had totally forgotten about needing to replace this battery so the fact that they include it with the replacement filter was so convenient and great (who has time to remember or worry about these trivial little details these days?).The way they designed even the battery compartment shows you how thoughtfully they designed this system for maximum convenience and low maintenance. The small watch battery comes preloaded in a tiny "tray" which sticks out from the water flow monitoring unit a little bit so you can easy grasp it and pull it out in one second, then swap in the new preloaded battery tray in another second. No need to fumble around with a tiny watch battery while hunched down under your sink trying to remember (from a year ago) where and which way to insert the tiny battery into the water flow monitor unit.The above may easily be overlooked as a just a minor detail, but to me I really enjoyed that thoughtful design nod to the customer. I felt they truly want my experience to be excellent, and that they care about making sure I am very pleased with their product. Such a refreshing feeling in today's consumer world.Then while changing the filter and washing out the filter housing, I realized I had forgotten how heavy the housing is due to the quality and durable construction. I also noticed how everything inside the housing was so smooth with basically no seams or creases where debris or grime could get stuck inside which would be very unappealing. It was a breeze to wash it out thoroughly.The clamping mechanism to secure the lid of the housing to the body is very robust and thoughtfully designed for maximum ease and convenience without sacrificing function and effectiveness.And swapping out the filter was simply unscrewing the old filter and screwing in the new filter. The instructions even thoughtfully tell you how to determine how tight to screw in the filter without risking damage to the expensive (but high quality) filter. Nice.Afterwards, the water filter unit was gleaming and shining exactly like brand new! I feel like this water filter system is going to last me a very long, long time and knowing that changing the water filter each year is so simple, easy and convenient makes me a very happy, satisfied customer.I did think this filter system was expensive when I first bought it, but now after experiencing their quality, durability and service, I realized the cost was well worth it. I really hate buying junk that ends up wasting my time, especially expensive junk. But this product pleasantly surprised me...enough to inspire me to write this review. It really is like the "Lexus" of water filter systems. The best part? I like the taste of this filtered water over bottled water. Awesome.

I'm still see black particles floating in my water glass. This unit is way overpriced and it's extremely difficult and time consuming to get the canister open to change the filter. Pass this one by and get the Waterdrop which I got for my bathroom faucet and it's very easy to change out, reasonably priced, and the water tastes great.

I was looking for a long time for the under the sink filter with a light/monitor to let me know when the filter needs to be replaced. I have seen a number items but either the price made no sense or the filters had a short life span. So far so good, I have had it for about 6 weeks and the water tastes great and the lights let me monitor the device's filter. It looks great and is used every day. install is always fun under the sink but it was not overly difficult. 5 stars if all is well in a yr!

The media could not be loaded. This water filter is really easy to install. Granted, I already had a hole in my sink for it so I can't really speak on drilling the hole, but nonetheless. The instructions are very clear and I highly suggest you read them before you start the installation. The parts were very easy to put together and didn't leak at all. They all felt like great quality partsThe water itself tastes really good, although on the first try it was a little cloudy. It did clear up in the glass afterwards. Not too sure what it is, but I'm assuming it has to run a bit more than the 15 minutes recommended in the manual.I'll try to update this review after my first filter change. Overall excellent. Installation was straightforward with basic knowledge of hot/cold turn off. Drilling hole thru granite was long(40 minutes) and tedious, but doable with correct equipment. Used Dewalt corded drill and Milwaukee 5/8 dry diamond bit. Flow thru provided faucet is steady and adequate. Taste of water is definitely better than city tap. I cannot tell difference in smell.I would definitely purchase again. Solid made product.FYI. Reason purchased was due to water dispenser failure on 2 expensive refrigerators

While the filtered water does its job, the connectors are weak and caused a leak.Be aware that the water pipe connectors (from the water line to the filter sensor, and from the filter sensor to the filter and back) are not well designed. They cause leaks. We had a recent situation where one of the connectors (from the sensor to the filter) popped out because of a slight increase in water pressure (resulting from some water main work). This caused a big leak in the cabinet under the sink and eventually seeped under our laminate wood which is completely warped.I am surprised that such a good quality filter comes with such a poor connector. I would have preferred a pipe connectors which had to be screwed on rather than one which are pushed in.I would not recommend buying this product.

The monitor system is poor design and never worked out of the box. It will still filter your water but is useless when comes to telling you the condition of you filter. Customer service is poor, when contacted about issue they said" that the monitor is under R and D" and that was 8 months ago. It makes you skeptical if the unit does what it claims to do, should get a water test. Poor quality and customer service for the price!poor quality and customer service.
