How Did I Survive Without This In My Life?
I'm not young. Quite the opposite. I'm halfway to the century mark and I honestly thought the condiment world had no surprises left for me.It delights me to be wrong. This sauce is a taste experience like no other. A dab on pizza. Mixed with mayo that will have your guests asking if you really made these burgers.A culinary revelation to my aging taste buds. If you're a jaded ketchup, BBQ and everything in between person then give this a shot. Pricey, yes. Worth it? They call oil "liquid gold". We'll, oil has a new competitor for that title.Goes great on just about everything and mixes with other sauces wonderfully. A little goes a long way. Thick, flavorful, chunks of onion, masterful.

Good, but more expensive than it used to be.
I would often buy this sauce at cub or wherever it was available before it was pulled off the shelves. I'd make bayou bourbon meatballs and bacon wrapped pigs in a blanket for Christmas every year, always a hit with everyone.I'm sure whoever finds this while looking through the reviews is looking for a good explanation for the flavor. So I'll give it my go at giving you an idea of what it's like. When you think bourbon, you think sweet. And you'd be correct, it's very sweet and lightly smoky as a good bourbon sauce should be. However it takes a twist, adding that spicy kick that the bayou food culture is known for. The spice is of a mellow heat but compounds on itself the more you eat. Along with the small diced vegetables and other spices mixed in with it, the sauce is as close to irresistible as one could be. And it caramelizes perfectly when grilling a steak (best paired with a hearty t-bone), making a sweet sticky crust.Or toss a bottle of it into a Crock-Pot with meatballs and chipped red onion for a sweet and savory meal or appetizer to feed a whole party. Also great with salmon as a glaze, just as depicted on it's wrapper.Really, anything gets a bonus of this sauce is used. The only downside is the extortionate price. It used to be 6 bucks, now every time I go back for more it's got a few dollars added to it. I don't want to pour 90 dollars into four bottles and ground beef for a Christmas dinner this year, I hope this review finds its way to the seller and can be remedied. I've sent emails.
