it's very good, tastes like real sugar in coffee, worth the money

A very decent amount - 1KG bag of sugar substitute. I like that it is brown and has a slight caramel flavour which is great in my Christmas cake. The granules are smaller and finer than regular brown sugar and is slightly less sweet. However, there are fewer calories and kinder to the teeth. This sugar substitute blend does taste different from sugar but, I'm finding it works well for cooking purposes.

With hot drinks is amazing exactly like for like sugar BUT we use it also for making some cookies as says can be used for baking and the cookies with every bite they felt frozen flavour and the only ingredient which was a replacement was this sugar . I had to bin away the cookies.

I have a very sweet tooth- so for me, anything that could potentially taste like sugar yet be only 1 calorie per teaspoon is well worth a try - especially after the Christmas excesses! And this erythritol stevia blend sweetener looks exactly like a fine- grade brown sugar. I should say that although it looks the part, it doesn’t pass the taste test on its own / raw….theres that characteristic cold feel on the tongue that you get from a saccharin sweetener, and it doesn’t quite crunch like sugar would. Nevertheless, this is being sold as ideal for baking, so I trialled it in a dessert favourite- a Crumble- using ripe mango & pear (leftovers from Xmas) as the base, and substituting an equal amount of the sweetener blend for my usual brown sugar in the crumble part. The resulting crumble had a a better-than-sugar, almost caramelised surface after baking, and tastewise it maybe tasted just slightly less sweet than usual, but otherwise no different …and the rest of the family were completely unaware of the substitute. So all in all, at £9.99 for 1kg this may be a little expensive, but for anyone wanting to bake a sweet treat on a diet - or just for being able to cut down on calories without sacrificing on taste, this is a really great substitute.

I have been using the white version of this type of sugar substitute for several years now, and so was delighted to find a brown version that I could use both for sprinkling and baking. The blend looks, smells and tastes just like normal brown sugar. I have even experimented with making caramel sauces and ice-creams with it, and it works amazingly well.Overall, I am very impressed with this alternative to brown sugar, and will be purchasing more when this generous bag runs out. The price for the amount in the package is good - a very nice product.

TLDR - Not a bad sugar substitute, it looks and tastes the part but isn’t quite as sweetYou get 1kg of this sugar substitute in a resealable pouch. On opening it I was first hit with the caramel like smell which is reminiscent of a light brown or Demerara sugar. Secondly I thought it really looked like sugar which for me is great because it tricks the brain.The sugar substitute is a mixture of erythritol and stevia with a hint of caramel. The breakdown of each ingredient isn’t mentioned but I’m guessing more erythritol. I encourage people to do their own research as to whether it suits them but for me I plan to use this quite sparingly and if baking I might use some sugar as well if large quantities are called for. As I don’t use a lot of sugar I will use for sprinkling in porridge, rice puddings etc where the brown sugar flavour is really welcome.Taste wise this isn’t quite a sweet as sugar but is very good with the nice caramel flavour coming through and no odd aftertaste like some sweeteners have. At 1 calorie per teaspoon and being quite tooth friendly this is a great substitute and good for the weight conscious.Priced at £9.99 when I was reviewing this is a fair bit more expensive than brown sugar (maybe 3 times as expensive). However for most, and definitely for me, this kilo should go a long way and last for some time so I think it is a reasonable purchase.
