Bought for a neighbor that had shingles. Stays cold

I've been using a nearly identical product by baby Frieda for the past few years every time my daughter gets sick. These don't last 8 hours but neither do those; the cooling effect is best if you refrigerate the patches before use but they do offer cooling even if you don't. I stick a few of these in my first aid kit in the car for any headache or fever complaints when we're on the go and they help ease the discomfort for at least 45-60 minutes. If the weather is cooler, they seem to be effective longer but that may partly be because my daughter tends to run hot and hot weather makes her sweat a ton which causes these kinds of patches to fall off and stop working faster. They solve the problem of dripping water if you're used to using a cold wet washcloth for a compress and I will say they also stay colder longer than a wet cloth does, too. You can cut them but I haven't seen a reason to. There is a slight odor and residue but it wipes off easily and isn't offensive to my family so we're fine with them. I think they're overall very helpful.

I got these for use at work, which ended up not working for me at all being that I walk around and these did not stay placed on me whatsoever. I use them during summer, so maybe being a little sweaty made them not work. These would be great if you are at home laying down or able to stay still.

Perfect for the hot temperatures in Florida!

These are pretty convenient to have on hand. I like that you can cut them but I haven't had a need to do that yet. They work best if you refrigerate them first. I found these stayed cool for less than 2 hours, so way off from the 8 hours advertised, but still long enough for relief. I did notice a menthol type smell coming from these and I wish that they did not smell. Sometimes I like to use a ice pack or cooling patch if I have a bad headache but under those circumstances, I do not enjoy the smell.

These cooling patches are AMAZING! They stick well to skin and stay in place while sleeping. They provide immediate cooling relief once applied. I use them during migraines as they help with my headache pain and the menthol smell - plus the cooling helps with nausea woes. I put one on my forehead and one on the back of my neck.I used to use ice packs but these are so much more convenient and easy to use. They provide the same cooling - actually, even more so because ice packs tend to start warming up after 20 minutes. These continue feeling cold for more than an hour!I would caution about using these on children because the cooling power sometimes may begin to feel painful after a few minutes. I think the menthol sometimes feels so cold it burns. So if you use them, trust what your kid tells you if they say it hurts.

I strongly recommend refrigerating these patches before application. Once it warms up after being out of the refrigerator for a while they become a lot less effective. It claims to keep cool for 8 hours but this is a stretch.I like the size of them and I appreciate that you can cut them into different sizes as well. Be sure to seal the unused open portion back up otherwise it will dry out.These patches are sticky but not overly sticky. They’ll stay in place if you’re laying down just don’t roll around too much. I accidentally got my hair under a patch and when I went to remove the patch it luckily didn’t stick to my hair.I did notice that it left a film on my skin after removal. It washed away but I didn’t like the feeling of it.

These cooling patches are strange to me. When you tear away the strip, you place the open gel patch to whatever you want to cool down. I put it on my forehead. It did cool me down, a bit, and stayed cool for the 4 hours I kept it on. It wasn't ice cold, but it was cool enough to cool my hot head down.I just wonder what the gel consists of. There are no ingredients listed on the packaging. I would feel better using these if I knew what was in them.These patches are made in China.I hope you found my review helpful!!
