Love Dr Mindy

Loved Fast like a girl and love this journal. I was wanting a way of keeping track when I’m fasting and enter Dr Mindy releasing her journal. Full of detail and incredible information. A must have if you fast like a girl 🩷

Journal not a guide to the original book “Fast like a girl “

Firstly I would like to say I thought Dr Mindy Pelz’s first original book “Fast like a girl” to be amazing and very informative. I have struggled though to apply the information to my diet in relation to my cycle. There are lots of lists of foods to eat at certain times in your cycle and some recipes included in the original book but no meal plans to facilitate switching to the new regimen. I read the below description of this journal: “Dr. Mindy does more than just tell you which foods to avoid, she provides recipes for healthy meals, breaks down which foods help or hinder your fasting, helps you track your sleep, your blood sugar levels, your energy, and much more, plus she links QR codes throughout the journal that will take you to her inspirational and educational videos.” I gave the journal 1 star as it simply doesn’t match this description. There are no recipes in this book or any food lists. You would need to buy the original book for this, I have but still wanted guidance like that described but it simply isn’t in this book. It contains a brief 10 page summation of the different types of fast and fasting FAQ but the bulk of the book is about 140 pages of one journal page to be filled in (see photos) and questions about how you are feeling but no answers as to what to do about any of these things. There are no QR codes in the book as described except for a free trial to the publishers app but you need to subscribe to receive most content non of which is related to this book anyway. I’m amazed this description has been written as I thought I was buying a completely different book based on this false representation. I am therefore returning the book which is something I have never done with a book before. Just beware you need to buy the first book and this book is just a journal not the description given on Amazon, no recipes etc and no real guidelines for the 60 days, just 60 journal pages with the same questions on each double page.

Easy to use and works well whilst doing Fast like A Girl. Needed for anyone who needs that bit of extra help keeping on track

A must-have for anyone looking to supercharge their life by fasting!

I've been a huge fan of Dr. Mindy after Fast Like a Girl came out, and when I heard about this journal I was SO excited. I love how accessible and practical it is - simply a must-have for anyone who is wanting to apply a fasting routine to their life but isn't sure how.

Too complicated for busy working Mum’s and also if you are in perimenopause and have no set cycle.

I think this is OK but very complicated and too much for the average busy Mum to deal with, Also if you are in perimenopause and your cycles are all over the place it is nearly impossible to navigate. I have fasted for years but as the hormones kicked in I was finding it more difficult. I have decided to go for a shorter 14-5 hour fast daily and that seems to work for me now. Longer fasts just lead to binge eating sugar and carbs!

Not as advertised and deceitful

Received this today after pre-ordering and bought it because (as pictured) the description says it includes ‘tons of recipes’. There is not a single recipe in this book and I have looked page to page. Just seems like false advertisement. I was hoping I could have one journal where I can track my fast, check which’s foods I need for my cycle and have some recipes in one place but this is not that. Hugely disappointed.Update: I went to check the reviews and descriptions the next day and it has been amended. See pictures attached. Really unhappy with the deception and no apology for the ‘mistake’.
