This was my first time using a video doorbell, and I was initially worried about the wiring. But the setup was surprisingly simple, thanks to the step-by-step guide in the app. I was also pleased to discover that my old mechanical chime continues to function with the ecobee doorbell camera after installing the included chime adapter—it was a nice touch! The video quality is excellent, and the wide field of view provides a great look at my porch. I also appreciate the motion detection range adjustment in the app, which allows me to customize what gets detected, reducing unnecessary alerts. One of my favourite features is the integration with the thermostat. I didn’t expect to use it much, but I love that I can quickly glance at my thermostat to see who’s at the door when the bell rings. Overall, this doorbell camera has exceeded my expectations. It’s user-friendly, reliable, and packed with useful features. Highly recommend!

This doorbell camera works very well. Compared to a Ring, the field of view is wider. In the Ecobee smartphone app the recording are excellent and easy to access. In two different homes, we simply replaced the existing doorbell button switch with this. It includes what they call a chime adapter, a little box that goes in the doorbell chime box on the wall. The setup steps are in the phone app, and they are thorough and detailed. I like these a lot.That I wish was different: while it works to stream live video at Apple Home, it won't show its recordings in Home. Not yet! Hopefully they might update it to allow that, by supporting what is called HSV (Homekit Secure Video).I can't speak to how it works with the Amazon and Google smart home systems.When we needed phone support, it was available (once we found Ecobee's phone number which was a challenge :-))

The doorbell integrates seamlessly with the Ecobee app and works great with Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The 1080p HD video quality is crystal clear, even at night thanks to the infrared night vision. The wide-angle lens gives a great view of your doorstep, and the motion alerts are fast and accurate.One of the standout features is how well it handles package detection and visitor recognition. Plus, the two-way audio is surprisingly clear, letting you talk to delivery drivers or guests in real time.Overall, the Ecobee Smart Doorbell is a strong contender in the smart home market. It’s stylish, reliable, and packed with features that make your home feel more secure and connected.

It gets warm the surrounding doorbell. Clean clear crisp image of camera works well and takes pictures and records. Fancy large glow door press doorbell sound . I say to install. It doesn’t tilt to the side for panorama view just stays in diagonal phone position only. Has a clean shiny black smooth surface! very sleek in design! Took a while to install and set up with making an account as well on the app! But it's alot more crisp and clear the visual camera and sound! I like how sleek and modern and easy to clean!

I live in the South and have this doorbell installed under an overhang. Since installing it in mid-April, I noticed the doorbell gets very hot to the touch — even the mounting screws were hot when I removed it.I had a licensed electrician inspect it. The transformer was fine, but he confirmed the doorbell unit itself should not be this hot. Ecobee support told me it’s “normal” and asked me to take a temperature reading above 113°F before calling them back — but I don’t feel comfortable waiting for a fire hazard just to meet a threshold.I love the recording and features, but the excessive heat makes me worry about safety. I shouldn’t have to worry about my doorbell catching fire. I’ll now try to get a temperature reading and reinstall, but this is not acceptable for a smart home product.

Easy to install and easy to connect to the Ecobee app. Excellent, high quality HD view. Live view does not require subscription. Several different alert settings if you want to pay for the subscription plan which is about $10 a month. Very happy with this purchase. Mine came with a 15⁰ wedge.

My first thoughts upon opening the ecobee smart doorbell is that this is very sleek and modern. It was an easy install into our home. I love how the style fits our home’s aesthetic without being too bulky. The quality is top tier as the night vision allows me to see anyone who comes to the door and so clear in the daytime as well. I would highly recommend this doorbell as compared to some others this one has the best video and responsiveness when it comes to a visitor.
