Black envelopes
These envelopes were used to distribute the news of a death in the family. A "round robin" was printed on A5 paper which when folded in half fitted perfectly. Addresses were printed on normal white labels which, with red or blue stamps, stood out well on the black envelopes. Hopefully the whole arrangement indicated that it was not junk mail.
