Highly impressed with the models for the price, great for any D and D adventure.

An interesting set of two miniatures, for an interesting Tabletop Wargame that's now OOP.He's a nicely sculpted miniature, both Mounted & foot versions, but unlike companies like Games Workshop or Mantic, they are made with a softer plastic, so it will take a little to get used to these miniatures if your only experience is the Hard Plastic models favoured by more established miniature wargaming companies.He comes with an assortment of cards that represent either his stats, special abilities or upgrades his character can take or use, and he also comes with some cardboard terrain for use in battles as well as some Mission/objective cards to go with the "scenery" tiles.The biggest thing to take into account with the miniatures from this game, is the fact they are very much in a MMORPG style, such as a style similar to Warcraft.The scale of the miniatures are comparable to say, Age of Sigmar or Warmachine/Hordes Wargames.

Excellent value core set. The mechanics will feel very familiar to anyone who’s played X-wing but with a twist (on the modifier dial).Love it

As a preface - I did not buy this set to play Runewars as a game, it was purchased for the simple fact that there are 48 mini's which worked out at under £1 per mini, which is an absolute STEAL for stocking up your D&D mini library.And just to make it clear, for less than £1 a piece you are getting;2 unique sculpted hero units;Kari Wraithstalker - An excellent mini for a Rogue or Ranger.Ardus Ix'Erebus - A perfect undead knight / leader figure.2 unique sculpt monsters;A War Golem wielding two large swords – A nice stand in for a rock golem / elemental, which aren’t cheap to buy.A Carrion Worm with a Skeletal – It would make a great purple worm (or any other worm) in a pinch but sadly it’s saddled with half a skeleton riding it. Still, if you don’t attach the upper portion of the rider you could get away with it.16 Spearmen - Great for soldiers or city guard. There are 3-4 different sculpts. 16 is very likely more than you would require for any given scenario in D&D (unless you're fielding an army... in D&D... awesome) but that allows for guards / soldier colours of different cities / nations.4 Mounted Knights - Cavalry (obviously) or City Guard Captains. Mix em up and match your colours again for different cities / nations.16 Skeletal Warriors - I mean... you always need undead mini's. Doesn't matter how many, you need them. They have about four different sculpts between them.8 Skeletal Archers - See above, but with bows!I must say, for less than £1 a mini, the sculpts are amazingly detailed and come with the added benefit that none of these mini's are attached to sprues, so no fiddling about to remove them, gluing them together and basing (they already come attached to a base, perfect D&D size), they simply need to be removed from the bag they come in, slotted together (yup, slotted. They hold together pretty strong once pieced together even without glue) and painted. There's a few mold lines here and there but they are easily sorted.Alongside the mini's, there's also a good number of "Runestone" like tokens printed on thick card, which are quite nice and a few landscape pieces if you want to add something extra to your play area.There’s also a lore book that's included which is quite nice for anyone who enjoys that, which I do, even though I won’t be playing the game.So all in all, it comes with everything you need to play the game. It's a complete bargain for anyone wanting to stock up on mini's for D&D with a few simple terrain pieces.On an unrelated note, the box feels really nice to the touch.

I missed the Runewars line when it was first launched.Just recently acquired some models including these Carrion Lancers.The skeletons are 28mm scale. The bugs they ride are huge!They are beautifully detailed. Sharp details!Quality is outstanding. Plasic is not too hard so it will not break.They assemble easy. Note that if you want to paint (and you should!), you may want to paint before assembly.I realised that with many Runewars miniatures this is the case: paint - then assemble.Can't recommed enough!

So Runewars. You do get a considerable amount of models for your money but personally due to it being the more bendy type plastic some of the spears etc were bent this can be solved by warming up with a hairdryer and waiting until it cools but I I think this type of plastic is nowhere near as good as a a games workshop hard plastic.the figures themselves are reasonably cast with very few parts to put together and it is suggested to use super glue.I tried half-and-half some with superglue and some with normal plastic cement, both did not stick very well.where you assemble the parts together they are generally not a very good fit and do have gaps. If you are looking to bulk up an army reasonably cheaply then I would go for this and hope some parts do not come off while in play. If you are buying purely for the figures by the French version it is cheaper
