Runewars: Miniature Game Core Set for 156 months to 180 months

Great minis some of them needed glue the archers were annoying but they are cheap hard to break

It's been sad to watch this amazing game suffer a slow death from neglect, not least because it's actually pretty awesome once you get a feel for it. The "little bit of everything" contents of this starter box don't do the full game justice, unfortunately, but most of the expansion sets are also pretty inexpensive now, so don't be afraid to pick it up and try it on for size. The rules feel a little funky at first, and to be sure they would've done well with a second edition to clean up their presentation and some tertiary details, but once you get the hang them the game starts to become a truly excellent fantasy strategy experience. I quickly accumulated an almost comprehensive collection of this product line, and even with how little I get the chance to trot it out I don't regret the investment.

Don't know about the game but you can't beat the price for the amount and quality of minis for painters.

Outstanding game that unfortunately the company isn’t supporting anymore, but that’s’ so no reason you can’t enjoy it. The only downside, and what maybe led to its fall was the fact that your really needed two core sets t set a good collection. With the price so low now that’s not a problem. I bought 3 and many expansions and am very glad that I did. It’s a game I can play for a long time to come. I just wish they had made Dwarves!Update, now that I've played it a few times, I LOVE this game! Outstanding!

Never tried to learn the game yet but this is an outstanding value for miniatures alone. With that said be advised that 90% of these minis are variations of armored knight with spear and shield vs tons and tons of armored skeletons in various poses. There are several mounted knights with the same shield and spear. The four unique minis (two normal sized and two huge) are worth the price of the set alone. Frankly any of the several “sets” would cost as much if you bought equivalents piece by piece from other manufacturers. Buy it and don’t think twice.

I bought this game solely for the miniatures because the price per miniature was so outstanding. The miniatures come in 2-3 parts that need assembled and optionally glued. They were easy to put together compared to full multipart miniatures. The miniatures come in several different poses. They feel solid, not fragile, and they look like they can weather a lot of abuse at the game table. Absolutely great value for the money considering the excellent sculpts and toughness.

Detail on the mini's is good but you will have to sanding down the mold spurs

Bought this when it was around $27.00. The minis have great detail, especially for the price. Not sure if I'll play the actual game, I got it to fill out my mini collection for D&D campaigns (size works well for 28mm). For a little over $0.50 a mini, I think this is a steal. From what I understand, this version of Runewars won't have any more releases, so probably won't be around much longer (not sure if this is true, but with the prices being so low on this merchandise, I wouldn't be surprised).
