This book is so good, I had to get one for a therapist friend of mine. The exercises and ideas are so helpful. I was reading this during a particularly difficult time in my life with lots of changes, the past rearing its head and not really being sure which way to turn, I have to say that this book really helped me let go of the past and move forward in a positive manner. So much so that I have been freed to make some major changes in my life. READ THIS BOOK.....great and easy to understand, the author has a sense of humour and also gives examples from his own life. Great reading for therapists looking for some alternative ideas to help their clients.

I read this book 8 years ago and obs leant it to someone to read. I wanted to give a presentation on one of the chapters of this book, so I decided to purchase the new one.For me its full of lots of life lessons and great ways at dealing with things.

One of the best books ive read

This book changed my life. Whilst not stating anything new, it got me to look at challenges in a completely different light, particularly about not letting an event become the outcome. It had helped me prioritise and assess things (personal and work related) in a far more objective way than I would have before which has meant I have been able to cope with more.Over the past 5 years I have always gifted it to various staff members either as part if their development or as leaving gifts. I can not recommend it enough

This is the third copy of this book I have purchased as each time I find someone who I want to share these life changing tips with. As a former wearer of the "victim" T-Shirt I can honestly say that it gives you lots of punchy "bites -size" tips that you can put into action to take responsibility for your life and not expect others to do it for you. I love the way this edition has been updated slightly, the personal stories Paul shares throughout make it real and tells us about times when even Mr SUMO himself has got it wrong. As the book says its how we respond to things that daily living throws as us that counts as that what we have control off. Think everyone should have a copy of this book on their bookshelf to refer to when you are just having a little too much HIPPO time and feeling sorry for yourself. Or like me to read and share the love by passing it on to friends and family.

Paul’s books have changed my life. Simple as. His writing is clear and his message is powerful. His words helped me look inside myself to find the power I knew always had to be able to live my best life every day. I had the pleasure of briefly meeting Paul a few weeks where I got the chance to thank him personally. If you buy this book you will return to it time and time again.

Did the schools version with work, and thought it was great, so bought the book. It's all about changing your mind set, stop feeling sorry for yourself, think positive and move on - if things aren't working the way you've always done them, then change things! I have read it myself, passed it on to my partner, and there is a que of friends and family waiting to read it! Would definitely recommend this, life-changing!
