If your Audiobooks are on Cassette yes, But I'd highly recommend finding an old high quality one which has been serviced.

Q: Does this record voice?

Sure. It will produce a low quality, muffled sounding recording of voice if you hold it close to your face. Any further than arms length and it struggles to pick up any sound at all.

Q: Does the unit come with a blank cassette to record to ?

No it doesn’t and the cassette playback often is distorted and slow. You really get what you pay for here.
