Bought this book for my 8 year old grandson who has recently discovered dinosaurs. I thought I was buying a big book with lots of pictures, but I was SO wrong!This book is amazing! Full of beautiful illustrations and way more information than I ever expected. I usually look more closely before I make a purchase, but I got it on a whim and am far from disappointed. When the book arrived it was much larger than I thought it would be, but that was fine with my grandson who fell in love with it as soon as it was out of the box!I have always made books an important and valuable part of growing up in my family, and this one would be a great addition to any library. It’s really more like an encyclopedia of dinosaurs than just a book, with beautiful and lots of information with every turn of a page. Suitable for everyone - I couldn’t be more pleased and would definitely purchase this book again!

While books are getting smaller and publishers claim costs. This is a massive full colored on nearly every page ( just cus I haven't checked). Thick as an old large city phone book. And a beautiflly embossed cover that will enrich any coffee table. There is interesting snppets on every animal with a picture and what exists as proof with skeletal, dna remains etc. Truely impressive book at a modest price.

This book is literally EVERYTHING I was looking for. A good deal of information accompanied by beautiful illustrations. It’s quite large and a little on the heavier side. A young man in my family is obsessed with dinosaurs and his face lit up instantly when he opened it! I am very happy with my purchase and I will recommend this book to anyone looking for dinosaurs. All I can say is WOW!

I bought this book for my 3 year old nephew but now I want one for myself! Every page is filled with so much amazing information and beautiful, bright pictures. This is like huge a dinosaur encyclopedia....I had no idea so many dinosaurs once existed! Very well written and fun to flip through. My nephew is going to love this book!!

This was a gift for a grandchild. It is a large, well illustrated book that details the dinosaurs of the various continents and their multiple differences. Nice reference book.

When I say this book is beautiful, I mean that the pictures are astounding!! When I say “big”, I mean it is hefty as far as volume/substance/weight!! And when I say “book”, I would be proud to have this in my library, but I bought it for my 10+ year old grandson’s birthday, so I guess I have to give it to him. This is really one of the best purchases I have ever made. I would not buy this for a child under 8 years old, it weighs quite a bit. I am really impressed with this book!!

But what it doesn't cover is sea creatures and early Triassic stuff, like Dimetrodon, those early short legged sail-backed dinos. Weird. But other than that, what you get here is page after page of small descriptive stats of the dinosaur in question, a small illustration of the Dino, with up to 6 of these per two open pages. On other pages, there's a full two-page illustration of a single Dino in their natural setting. Beautiful Art there.But here's my tale away from the book's 703 pages. I haven't been that deep into the Dinosaur world since I was a little kid (aside from the Jurassic Park movies). I'm almost 50 now, so figure 40-ish years that I haven't been big into Dinosaurs, and what surprised me here is that I had no idea there were so many variants of some of the major species of Dinos. The number of Sauropods alone was insane.The other problem I had with the book is that the last section of the profiles, was about 100 pages of lesser quality illustrations (lacking color detail) of dinos that don't directly fit into other groups. Not sure why this section was done this way.However, this is the kind of book I have been looking, no, dreaming of since I was a little kid. With just profiling all these different species within the same group. The information within the book is as up to date as of the writing of the book. In other words, there's textual mentions of 2022. One problem with the illustrations though is that they aren't scaled to one another. Because you'll get listing of dinos on the same page that are quite different in sizes but the illustrations are the same size if that makes sense.I give the book 4 stars for its length 700+ pp, and its comprehensiveness, but I deduct one star for the issues I listed above. It's still the best Dino book I've seen probably ever that doesn't dive deep into the paleontologist jargon. Although that's there, but written in more layman's terms.

I purchased this book for my grandbabies for Christmas! We love the information provided and pics provided. Very detailed! I love that they can grow with this!I truly appreciated the price on this book as I originally saw it at the museum in NYC... it was $60 there vs this price on here. Great find!
