Great so far
Purchased to replace older version I've had for 7-8 years. So far works well. Many of the batteries I purchased at the time still work. However they do not work with the power gauge on this model. They still charge you just don't get the red/green indicator. The newer batteries work fine.I also have a solar generator from ebl and everything I've purchased from them worked out well. Got my money's worth every time

rechargeable batteries still have a use
rechargeable aa and aaa batteries are mainstay's of solar powered lights for walks etc. unfortunately repeated trickled solar charging reduces battery life and occasionally they need to be fully charged to improve life.I was using a two battery wall mount and it was time consuming and not very accurate. The EBL unit uses AC power. handles eight batteries either size , mixed and individual charging and finished charging lights. nice design, worked out of box. may try it out on larger capacity cells and install in remotes.

No complaints.
A nice product for its price. I have a lot of LED lights that require batteries, and I was struggling to find a charger in retail that had more than 4 slots. This one suits my needs perfectly. The individual LEDs is a handy feature, and they work. The charging time is a bit longer to charge each battery than my old 4 slot charger. This almost made me consider taking of 1 star, but heck. The life of the charged batteries the same as before so I'm ok with it. Also I've detected no overheating after the batteries have charged up. The batteries stay nice and cool.

Solid charger but don't let batteries go to low or the charger won't allow them to be charged
This battery charger is solidly built; I really like the regular 120v power cord. All Batteries charge independently and all charge pretty evenly. But the one thing I didn't like is this model lacks a proper simple "low battery voltage" recovery function. If the kids drain batteries slightly to low in voltage this charger don't seem to want to charge them until I first place them into another similar costing charger for like 1 minute than swap them back to this charger "even if the batteries are new". Not having proper simple "low battery voltage" recovery function makes me give 4 stars.

A terrific battery charger to buy
I rarely write product reviews. In this case, the product is so awesome that I had to review it. This AA and AAA battery charger is not one you plug into a USB slot on a computer. Most of these chargers do. This one comes with an AC power cord and is plugged into an electrical outlet. WOW! A huge difference is time to charge up 8 batteries. While charging them the lights are RED. When fully charged, each RED one changes to GREEN. AWESOME product and cheap to buy.

it's worth the price
it works great and if you have that 1 odd battery like I always have this is the perfect charger cause it charges each battery individually.

A Good Charger For Good Quality Batteries
In response to Greg Johnson’s March 29, 2016 thesis on the EBL Smart Charger I would make this suggestion: Test this EBL charger with better quality batteries. I, too, tested this charger with Amazon batteries, and I got the same poor performance. Then I tested it with a much higher quality battery, and got excellent results. My point is that it’s not the EBL charger that loses the ‘quality’ contest. No offense to Amazon because their generic versions provide a useful service where generics suffice, but do not order a hamburger and expect to get prime rib. My only complaint is that the red/green lighting system is made to sustain for the duration of use. Mine flashes so fast that if you blink you could miss the cues altogether. It is not at all clear if they are fully charged or not, but the actual charging seems to be very sufficient.
