Q: Is this jalapeño or chipotle?

Neither. Technically these are Anaheim peppers or a close cousin of that strain of pepper, that’s why we read so many ambiguous answers to what chili names are used in cooking. These are not Jalapenos at all and smoked jalapenos are called chipotles. Anaheim’s are mild and their dried powder version is used to make enchilada sauces, chili soups, etc. So, to make things even more fun, a raw green Anaheim, after fully ripening (turning a reddish brown color) will usually be called “ ‘New Mexico’ or ‘California Chili’ and sometimes ‘Guajillo Chili’s‘ ”.

Q: Does this contain any sodium? If so, how much?

There is no added sodium to the New Mexico Chili Powder.

Q: Are these lectin free which means peeled and deseeded?

I'm not sure if they are peeled but I've never found a seed. What I do know is this is the best New Mexico chili powder I have ever tried and it has a great flavor.

Q: What are the ingredients, is it just chile powder did you add garlic, cumin, etc?

This product is only ground New Mexico chili, no other ingredients. It has a very full flavor, with a mild heat level; very tasty. To achieve that typical chili powder mixture flavor, add ground cumin to your dish. Cumin is the secret. If you've included onion and garlic in your recipe, you probably don't need onion powder and garlic powder, but there's no harm in adding those, also. It's the mixture of chili powder and ground cumin together that produce that chili signature chile recipe flavor.

Taste like home! I grew up on NM enchiladas and this is the only brand that I use. Love it and so fresh when opening the package. You want to make sure that you seal it after each use, lasts about a month or two for me.
