The Best Of R.E.M.

If you are looking for a G.H. album of their early songs,this one will fit the bill.

This is such a great collection of REM's earlier music and it reminds you of how unique their sound was ... which is sometimes forgotten because they have been around for so long. Every song is great and carries the powerful emotional impact of their lyrics and musicianship that just seems to seep into you. I have been listening to this in the car to and from work and it both helps me have a good mental state going on and a positive one going out.

I am really happy with this CD. I used to only know four R.E.M. songs: The One I Love, It's The End of the World as We Know it ... (this CD has them!) Losing My Religion and Orange Crush! I put this CD in my car player and instantly discovered that I had been missing out on some great music for a very long time! I now, especially like Carnival of Sorts, Radio Free Europe, Don't Go Back to Rockville and Finest Worksong! This CD is just a terrific mix of songs. I can put it in and let it play all the way through without skipping any songs (which I habitually do with other artists music!). I also purchased The Best of R.E.M. in Time 1988-2003 because it has Losing My Religion and Orange Crush. I listen to this CD more often than the ..In Time 1988-2003. This is a 16 track CD release of the best of early on REM. It includes hits like 'Perfect Circle', 'Talk About The Passion', 'Fall On Me', and 'The one I Love'. This is specifically for the lovers of the early REM. There are some great songs and material here however the songs from the late 90's were the best for REM.For the die hard REM fans.

I had to buy two different greatest hits CDs to get all their best songs. It feels like REM put half hits and half filler on each one rather than just one really good CD.

The title says it all. Delivered and packed extremely well. This cd if full of all the greats. So I you're feeling the need to travel back a few years and remind yourself of why R.E.M. will always hold a place as one of the greatest bands well...buy it and enjoy.
