updating to the latest and greatest when they introduce a new system
Been using multi blade Gillette for several years, updating to the latest and greatest when they introduce a new system.I've been using this razor about 4 months.. after also trying a couple of others.. It's quite mild, I really like the balance... I've tried at least 20 different in the last few months, and there is a huge difference, Feather, Astra.. the list goes on and on..So far.. with this razor.. I prefer Kai blades.. thought Astra or Wilkinson were my faves until the Kai Blades.. I have Pol Silvers to try next.. but my guess is the Kai's will remain my favorite blade.. So far I've had six shaves from the current Kai blade, simply wiping off the blade and drying each time.. Nothing else has made over 3... Nice combination .. My shave with the Kai blade this morning (day 6) with three - four passes is smooth enough that now 9 hours after shaving, I don't feel stubble even when rubbing against the grain...Someone is probably asking Kai VS. Feather.. the feather blade is much sharper.. feels thinner, and doesn't last as long... I also nicked my face much more with the Feather than any other blade.. but every razor is different.. and our skill levels vary.Oh.. tried Creemo..and Pacific Shaving creams.. Creemo is "slicker".. but I nick myself much less with Pacific Shaving.. and after reading both labels I'd rather have that on my face as well..

I really like the "butterfly" blade loading
I really like the "butterfly" blade loading. I had been using the other kind where the whole head must be screwed off to replace the blade and those are a pain in the neck. The "bomb door" blade loading is the kind I remember every man using in the 60s and for good reason. Changing blades often is the key to old-school shaving and I'm more likely to replace the blade if it's easy. The handle is solid and good weight in the hand. It doesn't have a way to adjust the closeness of the blade like my dad's razor could. But the closeness of this blade is fine for me.

A Mehaz with a longer handle
I have had a Mehaz razor for some time and really like it. However I often wish it had a longer handle which they apparently do not offer. On searching, I noticed the Edward London brand which look familiar. Sure enough, it's the exact same razor, but instead of a 3" handle, it has one 41/2". I now find it interesting that such products are made in one place and shipped to various retailers that put their own brand name on them. I'm assuming this one is also made in Germany, but if it's not, who cares. It's still a great razor, especially at this price.I just had my first shave with this razor and got a couple of nicks. I think the long handle allowed me to press down a bit too much, plus the blade angle seems to make the razor somewhat more aggressive. The shave, though, was great. I may go from persona to Wilkinson and see if that changes anything.Update; To determine where this razor was made, I finally looked at the box in which it came.--duh--it was made in China, whereas the Mehaz claims to have been made in Soligen, Germany. The thing is that they look so much alike that it's possible there is a small mix-up in claims concerning sources of manufacture. Both razors are very good in terms of apparent quality of construction, however, as time goes by, there may be some differences that will show up with use. For what it's worth, I'll keep you posted.

This razor is useless. I want my money back.
This is a very disappointing product. It fails to perform its one function, which is to shave your neck without turning it into hamburger. I have a cheap little travel safety razor that is way better than this. If you are thinking of purchasing a razor that is designed to do the job it is created for I would pick literally any other razor but this one. In fact, if spent $17 on bic disposable razors you would have many many more sufficiently close and comfortable shaves than will get with this paperweight, which let me clearly state is zero shaves. This product is useless. I want my money back.

Nice razor!
This is a really nice double edge safety razor. Good quality, the blades are held secure with an even amount of blade showing on each side. The weight of the razor is perfect. The shave is just right for me, I would say it's right in the middle between mild and aggressive.I highly recommend this Edward London razor.

I would recommedn this razor....
Nice, solid razor. Shaves about the same as my old Gillette super-speed(with astra super platinum's in it), except that you can put more pressure to the head, accidentally, because of the longer handle. The long handle is nice for maneuvering though, and the grip is nicely knurled to be non-slip. It has a good heavy feel and I have been using it for several months and it is holding up well, with no issues. It is listed as brass, and a magnet does not stick to it. Good stuff at a good price. I would have no problem recommending it to someone new to DE shaving that wants a nice razor without breaking the bank. The box it came in is cardboard ,but very nice looking, if you are thinking of giving it as a gift.*******UPDATE April 2019 *****I've been using this razor every day for three years now, and it still works as well as the day I first received it. I just ordered another one to put away for if I ever lose or break this one. Lose actually, three years of use and it still looks and functions like new, and I don't see it breaking soon. Great buy!

works for me
I'm still getting used to it but I like it. Replacing the blade is much easier/safer than the previous safety razor I had which had a screw off handle. The flip side is that the blade isn't held quite as firmly. So I am cutting myself a bit more frequently, I anticipate this problem going away as I get use to it.Overall I like it. The price is right and it's easy to use and keep clean.
