These belts are simply awesome.The back story everyone can relate to:For years I had so many leather dress belts, the regular ones where to fasten it you pushed the clasp/pin/buckle through one of the many holes in the leather. We all have those belts, and yeah, those work of course. But those types of belts always wear pretty bad. They develop creases/wear marks from having to pull the belt back on itself in order to insert the closing pin into the hole. And they wear around the actual holes just from daily use. Plus, whenever you'd gain/lose an inch off your waste and would need to start using one of the adjacent holes, the belt would look really bad since all of the wear marks would be really obvious on the sizing hole which you had been using.I think I wrote that clearly, and those problems should make sense to anyone who has ever worn a belt.So, the awesome solution: These new types of belts!The locking mechanism is kinda genius. As you slide the belt through the front buckle, you can hear the locking mechanism clicking on the back side of the leather, and it hold in place without slipping. If you want it a little tighter, just push it through another click. When you want to remove it, just pull out on the buckle and the belt releases easily. Imagine a zip tie, push it through, click click click, locked in place. But unlike a zip tie, these belts release. The buckle looks like a normal belt, gives the illusion that it is held with a closing pin.Best part is that there are no holes to wear out! And, since there aren't any holes & no closing pin to push through, you don't ever fold the belt over on itself... So these belts really don't wear out.I bought a belt like this randomly years ago, and it quickly became my go-to belt, then it became the only belt I ever use. Still works great, still looks great, doesn't appear to have any wear on it.So now, I have purchased three more that are listed here on Amazon. I wanted to make sure I have a brown one, and a black one, I keep my original one in my travel luggage so I always have one handy, I've given one to my brother as one of those 'must haves' gifts. I can tell you that these belts listed here are excellent quality, the racheting mechanism works great. And, the sizing process is super easy with very clear instructions.I dont often leave reviews, but I had to for this. Definitely, you should buy a couple of these.

This Belt Is the Very Best – I Won’t Buy Anything ElseI absolutely love this belt. The ratchet system makes it incredibly convenient—I can easily adjust the tightness by simply pulling the buckle backward. It looks sharp, feels durable, and doesn’t cost much at all. Honestly, my other belts are just collecting dust on the hanger because I have no desire to wear anything else.

This belt is the perfect answer to the inconsistent sizing of traditional buckled belts and having to get the leather punch out to add more holes to your belt. The ratchet system allows fractional-inch adjustments and is simple to tighten or loosen, discreetly; you don't have to tug and pull the the belting like you do on traditional belt to release the buckle pin from its hole and then look to find the next available hole on the belt. This belt is stiffer and slightly thicker to some fine-leather traditional dress belts; probably related to supporting the ratcheting track/channel sewn into the layers of belting. It looks like a good leather dress belt. There has been no visible wear, scuffing, marring or creasing of the belting material as a result of the mechanical operation of the buckle. A durability rating should come from a longer time frame for a belt, but it is holding up well so far (4 months).Update: Well, after 8 months the "durability" factor became an issue. The buckle's mechanical operation failed. One side of the hinge or pivot point for the top buckle came apart, allowing the buckle to shift and jamb the belting so that it could not be loosened. After taking a moment to figure out the failed mechanics I was eventually able to get out of it. I have posted a couple photos to show where things came apart.Since, overall, I do like the the idea behind how the buckle system works, its looks, and its ease of being able to discreetly adjust the belt, I have ordered more of them. Hopefully, the hinge breakdown was a fluke, or, hopefully the manufacturer will eventually strengthen the hinge pins or mechanics that allowed the breakdown.

I've owned a few of these ratcheting belts - if you haven't tried this, you should. It's a really nice upgrade over traditional belts, and they last a lot longer than traditional belts because the leather doesn't get all creased up. There are cheaper brands out there, but I feel this one offers a nice mix of a high quality buckle, an easy to use mechanism, and a nice looking belt. Purchased a black and brown one, and they both look great.

Very impressed. I loved how you cut this belt to fit. The ratchet system is very trick and easy to use. And the belt buckle is very nice. Overall, this is a high quality belt.

I've been wearing the belt/buckle for several months. It still looks great and functions perfectly. I have no complaints. I appreciate it's understated design. It doesn't really look like a ratcheting buckle & that's a good thing.
