An effective and energy efficient cooling solution
As long as the humidity is low this unit is very effective. In a humid climate this won't work. In northern Arizona summers are very dry unless there is the occasional rain shower. Daytime temperatures can easily be over 100 degrees especially in July. The garage is not insulated so the air conditioner is incapable of cooling the 425 sq ft even though it is rated for 750 sq ft. The cooler I have is rated for 950 sq ft. so is more than adequate. To use it I partially open the garage door (about 3 ft off the floor) and place the cooler directly in front of the opening. I found that just opening a window or walk through door is not adequate ventilation and damp and not very cool situation. A full reservoir will last about 1 1/2 hours. I have a garden hose just outside, so filling is quick and easy (1-2 minutes). It has an auto fill feature, but that is not recommended for indoor use. I use the A/C when it is raining as there is an outside temperature drop and the humidity is up. As a bonus this is much more energy efficient than A/C

Great Evaporative Cooler if You Live in Low Humidity Place
I live in Tucson, Arizona where many houses used to only have these units on the roof for cooling. We call them Swamp Coolers. They will only work in a low humidity environment or you might as well just buy a big fan. Water runs over the filters, the big fan sucks in warm air and evaporates the water, the temp is lowered up to 25 degrees, and you have nature’s air conditioning, just like you on a hot, sweaty, breezy, desert afternoon!I bought this in July. We were replacing a 16 yo Mobile Mastercool that was made of metal and the doors were rusted out at the bottom.I saw they had these at the local Big Box Hardware Store and I was skeptical because none were on display. I was able to get a better deal here so I gave it a shot.We use the cooler on our patio under our awning. As long as it isn’t monsoon season, it drops the temp a good 25 degrees. The 3-Fan speeds are great and the oscillating feature works great. I’ve told my wife several times to turn it down because I was freezing out on a 90 degree night. The fan is very powerful which helps with the evaporation off the side and back pads.My only complaints are the plastic back panel is a little flimsy and kind of a pain to seat. If you can get the float right, hopefully you are replacing the cardboard panels only once every couple years.Replace the cardboard panels you say. Depending on how hard the water is in your area the panels over time will build up scale on them and will no longer have a good flow for the water and will need to be replaced. I’ll admit I have gone five or more years at a time but it really does work best for airflow if you replace them every couple years. A lot of this does depend on the hardness of the water in your area.My second dislike about this unit is the float. It is a plastic apparatus set up that is positioned in the corner by the side panel. First of all make sure you cut away a little extra of the cardboard so the float can move freely. I have had a very hard time getting the float to stop where I want it to be so I can just leave the hose on. When it is really hot and evaporated quickly if I have the hose bib on a very low flow it often times just fills enough and doesn’t overflow. But once you turn the fan off when you come out in the next morning there will be all kinds of water on the ground around the unit. I’m sure I can fix this I just haven’t wanted to waste an hour and a half trying to get the level perfect. If it starts to overflow I just turn it off for a while. You can tell when it is running low by looking at the float on the front of the unit. I’m sure the manufacture will reply that you should never leave the hose bib on it unattended anyways.Overall I am extremely happy with this unit. I did buy an extended warranty to make sure that the unit would be covered at least for three years. I will give an updated review next year since now it is our fall/winter and we aren’t using the unit again until most likely April.

Best cooler on the market
Ok I just came on Amazon to buy another one of these coolers for my new mini home, I bought my first in 2021 and it's still in service! Granted, we've gone thru 2 water pumps (20/30$) some tubing that split, new pads, but the motors, fan, electronics, the basic case (surprisingly because this thing has NOT been handled gently and even took a couple tumbles down the stairs!) all still works perfectly to this day 4 years later. Even the case does not leak and we've taken this apart and back together many times. Don't even mess around with those little ones, I have 5 sitting in my yard that broke after 2 months of use. This thing is a beast, highly recommend. If you live in a climate where an evap cooler works well (high desert CA here) you will not be disappointed.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Five stars

nice and cool!
this thing is AMAZING. it works well, and does exactly what i bought it for... to make my apartment nice and cool!cons: • this thing is f/ing HUGE, BUT that's my fault for just pressing buy and not looking into it.• it takes A LOT of water. (not necessarily a con but because i'm on the 2nd story i have no hose access so i fill it with a 5gallon jug a few times a day depending on how hot it is)• it gets HUMID as f. BUT it's a swamp cooler, and i have 1 window. so placing it on my balcony facing in to blow the cold air into my apartment was the solution! so either make sure you have LOTS of windows or find a place that it works for you!• has a rain smell! idk if it was just mine or what but it smelled like fresh rain when we first started to use it, now idk if it's gone away or we just got used to it but it's not as terrible LOLALL IN ALL this was a good buy! it doesn't run my ac into the ground and saves me a hefty electric bill! i'm happy with my purchase. if noise is annoying to you, it is loud, but honestly i'll take playing my tv a little louder over suffocating in heat!

This works amazing!!!
Do not even bother from the cheap knock offs sold on here. This is the real deal when it comes to a working swamp cooler. I live in a small camping trailer in southern california with no shade around me. Its 92° and usually inside here it gets 10-15° hotter than it is outside. This is keeping it as cold in here as a AC usually would, I am using blankets in 90° weather its so fresh in here! I tried one of the cheaper ones last year and while it made it “bearable” it was still way to hot to be comfortable and just made it feel muggy in here. This is 100% worth the price for comfortability. I keep 2 windows open and my door open with a fan facing outside of it to pull the moisture out of here, it works as good as my window ac unit used to without the horrible electricity bill.
