Update: I’m not changing my star rating because this stuff does what it claims. It will lay your hair down like nobody’s business. But it is heavy and it will leave a haze on your hair. I felt a little self conscious at work wondering if anybody noticed. It also leaves your hair very shiny which I’m not fan of… my final thoughts on it? Use it if really needed but in moderation. The strong smell is concerning. I also saw on the container where this is manufactured in Korea.I have very resistant and could hair. I guess it would be considered 4c but it has thinned out so much as I’ve gotten older that I think 4c is a little misleading. Thinner hair is a lot easier to control and deal with so I just want to make that disclaimer.This edge control definitely works. I would say it works better than the very popular brand that comes in a lot of variations … like extra hard, extra firm etc etc.I’ve learned to trick is to not manipulate the hair once it’s applied. Combing or brushing after application causes it to lift and not work as well. I used this at 8:30 this am and it’s 2pm. My hairline is still plastered down.Now, the drawbacks is it is gummy. I only use this when I’m close to wash day. I wouldn’t use this on my freshly washed hair. Also the scent isn’t great. It smells like a cheap men’s cologne. And the smell lingers. It’s been practically a full day since application, and I can still smell it.It’s on the shiny side but I just take a towel and try to lightly pat it to take some shine away.Overall, it does what it says. You won’t be disappointed with the hold. It really lasts all day. And I didn’t use a scarf or anything. Merely brushed my hair back into a ponytail. And then applied this around my hairline and went to work.

So far this is the best edge control I’ve ever used. There is no white cast when it dries or through out the day if you disturb the edges. It actually holds my 4c edges all day like right to bedtime. It doesn’t hold thru sleep if you don’t tie your edges down and i haven’t been. Haven’t tried tho to see if they would last till the next day but i suspect they would. No strong smell. Feels moisturizing not crunchy and dry. Ive used for about a week now… in a rush just slapped it on. Didn’t bother to tie down or anything and my edges are still in place! Can’t speak for how it will work in summer tho this is still fairly cool weather i.e no sweat.

Love the product , a little goes a long way and that was the real seller because most gels require a lot or are too slippery and this just right !! Also goes good as a pair for those more slippery gels . I use it when getting nice boxed looks or straight lines and then use shine and Jam (red jar) if I need on the rest of the hair to prevent major buildup for my clients. Definitely will be repurchasing !

Really durable and last

LOVE, LOVE.. DID I SAY LOVE THIS STUFF?! Incredible hold that doesn't make me afraid to touch my hair. Holds hair partner perfectly while letting your fingers move to keep braids tight and clean. Even a strong enough hold to make liberty spikes all on its own!

The gel was wrapped tightly in plastic, no leaks and the gel texture was good and stiff. Works excellent on my daughter's 4c hair . It's easy to smooth down so you can avoid white residue.

Love this product. No residue or flaking. Great for styling wet or dry hair. Dries soft. Been using a few weeks and it has not seemingly compromised the health of my hair that I can see. My daughter and I have very thick hair and I have locs and it works very well with our hair. I work around high heat and humidity and it stays put all day either out losing its integrity.

It’s okay but for braiders, it will dry the hair out and it turns white so I don’t recommend it, scent isn’t terrible, thick hair types it doesn’t hold much and it’s dry looking
