Very impressed, rich intense color
For the price, this is an amazing travel set of watercolor paints. I but some fairly expensive professional grade watercolors for elaborate projects. But I saw these and all the great reviews and figured I would just take a leap to get some extra ocean blues and greens. I'm so glad I did. The paint activates immediately with the slightest amount of water, is very rich, smooth and heavily pigmented. I've posted the photos of a couple of small cards I painted p just to try them out, and they do act just like high quality watercolors. I'm disappointed that the only available set is this "Currents" set at this time, as I'd really like to purchase the earth tones set I'm seeing reviewed here.

*MORE* than worth the price!!!
I have no idea whether Prima brand watercolor products are professional or student quality, but I consider them among my favorite two or three brands to use! I have Daniel Smith, Winsor & Newton, Holbein, artisinal handcrafted paints purchased through Etsy, I have paints in tubes and paints in pans, liquid concentrated paints and watercolor pencils and markers--basically, I am obsessed with watercolor paint and paper. Prima brand paints are my favorite because their colors inspire my creativity in ways that I normally struggle with. Their "Currents" pallette is designed for any water-related images you would wish to create. The pigments activate almost immediately after you add water, and they are a real pleasure to use.The price is on the lower end;each palette set costs between $20 and $25, which makes my goal of owning every palette set much easier to meet! The *only* critique I have against these palettes would be that the pans aren't magnetic, which means they freely move around in the metal case. It got to be pretty annoying to me, so I purchased a roll of narrow magnetic tape and made each pan magnetic and solved the problem myself. It would, however, look much nicer if the pans came magnetized to begin with! Other than that (which isn't really a big deal anyway) I have nothing but praise for the products!

Beautiful pallet.
Neat packaging for this pallet. Nice for gifting to an intermediate watercolorist. A little pricey for a beginner.

Best affordable brand for all levels!
This is the best brand for affordable watercolor pans and is great for all levels. They have a lovely selection of colors and I’ve yet to receive one color that wasn’t vibrant or decadent! This color set is my absolute favorite as blue is my favorite color and they’re very true to picture. Most of them are very opaque at first stroke and make gradients rather nicely. They’re definitely not the same quality as Windsor and Newton but I find them to be more than sufficient for professional use.I will say that they’re not the easiest to reactivate and pick up off the page but I don’t find it to be a big enough issue to change my rating.

Vibrant and beautiful colors BUT hard to lift
The shades of blues and greens are just gorgeous and perfect for seascapes. However, I tried them on 300GSM/140lb 100% cotton cold press watercolor paper and they would NOT lift. Mind you, the paint was still wet and I tried to lift off some of the paint with tissue. It would not move. So please keep this in mind if you are looking for set of paint that can be lifted from the paper. Other than this issue, this pan is worth the money.

Great Colors
In the wintertime we really miss color in the midwest. I dream about Spring in February, new colors brightening up our landscapes. THe colors in this palette are really lovely, highly pigmented and dreamy to apply. The second palette of their paints I've purchased. Love their products and am saving for another!

Beautiful, delightful to work with
The media could not be loaded. These are fantastic little pans in a functional and cute tin pallet. High pigment, smooth. Probably my favorite brand so far in this price range!
