Titan International Knife Damascus Steel Skinning and Gutting Knife

Alright, so I bought this knife with the Hope's of using it as my primary deer hunting knife. Out of the box the blade wouldn't cut cardboard. And the guthook didnt even have an edge. What edge the blade did have had visible damage right on the cutting edge. After about two hours on a 1000 grit cutting stone I was able to get the edge profile to resemble a sharp knife. Tonight after work I will put it to the 6000 grit stone and strop it. I will also try to fix the guthook. This is a lot of work for a $60 dollar knife. A cheap Gerber from walmart works for one season without this much issue....That said, this knife is constructed great! The handle is beautiful, comfortable, and feels sturdy. the sheath isnt the prettiest, and it isn't what is pictured, but it will work. Overall its a mediocre knife out of the box. Once its sharpened i believe it will hold an edge, and I'll see how long it holds an edge field dressing a white tail and update this review.*** UPDATE AFTER DRESSING THREE DEER***I didnt have to sharpen this knife all season.the guthook is still worthless lol. I probably need to put a lot more time into sharpening it. This is extremely HARD steel. It held its edge and sliced through muscle and membrane like a hot knife through butter. It had trouble cutting the rib cage and pelvis. The handle was just a little too small to put my body weight behind it when my hands are slippery with blood. That said, the handle works great and didnt slip. The small finger grooves did their job. Pair this with a half decent bone saw and you will be able to dress a deer in a matter of minutes without much hassle.

Got this knife as a gift for my Grandfather. It came well protected, no rust because of the oiled packing bag. The knife it self is beautiful and feels nice in the hand. As my Grandfather said "This is really nice and the right size for skinning." The gutting hook comes really sharp for a good reason. The sheath came fitting the knife well and is a nice medium brown. Overall a great product in my opinion.

Knife will have to be sharpened when you receive it.

very sturdy and good quality they could have made it sharper out of the box but im going to sharpen it to a razor so not a big deal

This is a well crafted blade, handle and details are impressive, perfect shape and size for gutting and skinning. You can spend a lot more for less a blade.

Just got this knife and it is really beautiful, if I think about it I'll update my review and tell you how durable it is after 2019 deer season.

Good quality holds an edge very well.

Bought this for my husband's birthday, after looking all over for a special handmade Damascus blade. He loves it.
