I have been using this exact type of Xbox chat headset from the very first day that the Xbox One was available. In my console settings, I have the game audio through the TV speakers and only the chat coming in through the headset. Yes, I know, some gamers want the surround sound/dual earpiece, over the head set-up. I'm not a competitive gamer and to me, all of that is simply a waste of money.I prefer having only one ear covered so that I am not so isolated from what else is going on around me in the house.I refuse to spend a fortune on a gaming headset. The sound is fine for party/chat conversations.This headset has a convenient mute button right at your controller. No more sneezing, coughing or people trying to have a conversation with you that you don't want to broadcast to everyone in your party/chat group.There is also a volume control, right at the controller.The boom mic is bendable and can be bent towards, or away from your mouth.My main complaint is that the wire that they use is truly, Bible-paper thin and will eventually break/short out rendering the headset useless.They should also have included a shirt clip so that the wire isn't dangling down onto the controller and tangling up your thumbs while you try to play.On the old, XBOX 360, they used to also include a foam mic cover to reduce ambient and breathing noise.So, if you get this headset, purchase a set of collar clips and some foam mic covers.Also, if you have the tv/game volume so loud that people complain, it's probably too loud to have it pumped right into your ears...

Exactly as advertised, new in box xbox one headset. Works fine so far, arrived on the stated date. All good.

Honestly don't usually write reviews and that, but this is just remarkable. I'd heard they aren't the best and not to purchase, but thought its Microsoft and can't be that bad. Optimistic, at best. The headset is so weak I can feel it nearly snapping in my hands, not to mention the fact the MICROPHONE DIDN'T EVEN WORK. Literally, it's primary function. And it didn't work, you can imagine the disappointment. Waste of space, please god do not bother and spend a bit extra coin, save yourself shelling out anymore P's to these time-wasting tw**s.

I always choose this headset as it doesn't give me headaches like the bigger headsets do and it arrived quickly as well

Not the comfiest headset and seems to cut in and out a lot - have to constantly jiggle it in the controller for it to work. But when it does work it’s fine.
