Good quality, large watering bags
I recently tried these tree watering bags for the first time, and I have to say, I’m impressed with the quality! Initially, I wasn’t sure what to expect when they were full, but they turned out to be quite heavy and large. Because of this, I would recommend them for trees with established roots rather than newly planted, weaker trees. One thing I noticed is that they empty rather quickly, with the majority of the water gone in no time. However, they do provide a decent amount of moisture that keeps the surrounding area wet for a couple of days. I also used them on a potted tree rather than one planted in the ground, which may have influenced their effectiveness.Overall, these tree watering bags are a solid choice for ensuring your trees get the hydration they need, especially if they have established roots. Just be prepared for their size and weight when full!

Hard to fill
Buy and attachment to fill. If not you have to hold it up so the hose will fill it. It works great once you get it filled

THE QUALITY IS FANTASTIC
Let me start by saying that the quality and functionality of this product is fantastic. If you have a farm-style water supply (1.5"+) they are also quick to fill, but be aware that it takes a minute if you're going to fill them with a garden hose. They went on quite easily and I got the 20 gal. size (for a larger tree). One extra benefit with these is they protect the trunk from deer rubbing on it. I imagine these could also be used for liquid/diluted fertilizer for the tree as well. One note: These take plenty of time draining so the water doesn't all just run off, but they do not take anywhere near 9 hours (which is fine for me, but I wanted to mention it in case it made a difference for your application.) All-in-all, for the quality it is also a pretty good value for the money and if you need something like this, I recommend this one.

Fairly rugged and useful tree water bags that unfortunately empty too quickly
We planted three apple tree saplings last year that are growing nicely. Because our summers are becoming hotter and dryer, we water them constantly. When I saw this product, I figured it was the perfect solution, and to a certain extent it is with a fairly major caveat. The bags are rugged and hold up fine when full of water, which is fairly simple to add with a common garden hose. The issue is that they drain too quickly--they have not lasted a minimum of five hours, and definitely not nine hours. So I have to refill them more than I would like. Other than that they do cut down somewhat on the need for constant watering, but not as much as I'd like.

Empties quickly, defeating the whole purpose of the bags
Bags emptied in just a couple of hours. I filled two of the bags for two new trees and they already emptied in just a couple of hours, which defeats the whole purpose of the bag. If I have to refill the bag every day, I might as well, just water the plant myself with less work.

Stand up on their own, hold the right amount of drip needed
We are doing some landscaping that includes putting in a couple trees and I have to say I am looking forward to these tree water bags. We have already tried them out and the rate of drip is perfect for a newly planted tree. They were easy to fill with a garden hose and the 20 gallon is just the right size for our needs. They stand up on their own so you don't have to worry about them leaning on the newly planted tree for support, they appear to be sturdy and well made and will do the job we need them to do. I can't speak to their longevity since we only just received them but overall I am very pleased with them.

Not For Smaller Trees
Hopefully my experience is not the norm but these did not work for me. Some of that reason may be the particular trees. I wanted to use the watering bags for younger and smaller trees that need a boost coming out of the winter. Unfortunately, I encountered two big issues. First, I filled them as instructed and left them only to find the bags still full the next morning. I tried a few different times and ways but didn’t work. Now, it may be due to my second issue. I wanted them for two smaller potted trees. The bags are so large that in one case it fit easily inside the pot, but very much engulfed the tree. In another it was fine as the tree was taller, however, it dwarfed the pot. I was trying to hold off planting these trees permanently for, just a bit longer. But I may have to go ahead and do that. Looking at the trees while wrapped, I also felt like the bags would actually cause stress to these trees if used in the summer heat. So these may work for larger, in ground trees, but they don’t work well for smaller or potted ones.

4 pack 16 gallon flat circle model
We ordered the round flat bags so that the ground would support the weight without direct contact with our trees. This works good for all sizes of young trees from spindly saplings up to 5" base (maybe larger) It did take a little maneuvering to get the drip just right so that the water feeds as slowly as we wanted. We still have to drag the hose over to fill the bag but this method has much less waste and run off.
