Fantastic DAC for the price.
The USB socket fell out of my SMSL Sanskrit MKII, so had to use a very basic DAC for a few weeks. The SMSL D0100 Pro arrived day after ordering, fired it up with one of my favourite CD's The Beautiful South Solid Bronze Special Edition, a meticulously remastered CD. Am using an old Cambridge D500 SE as a transport and it sounded amazingly clean over my Sennheiser HD650 headphones and MF V90 balanced headphone amp.. Switching to my 2 Musical Fidelity P180 power amps, 3B Pre, Tannoy DC2000 speakers and sub the sound was powerful and refined, silent parts are just that.Only downside I have found is the DAC has left me feeling my headphones needed upgrading, another £500 spent this morning. High praise indeed for such a well priced and well performing DAC.

This DAC Covers Virtually All Needs
Why did you choose this product over others?:Previous positive experience with SMSL products. I have a D6s DAC. This is essentially the same excepthat it has an additional HDMI input port for TV sound.Value for money:The price was reduced to £167 from the usual £209-£219 price range; I pounced on it!!!Sound quality:Its A-D conversion is good enough for all but the most forensic of audiophiles. It's clear and noise-free to my hearing. I use it with QAcoustic M20 active speakers and it plays LDAC over Bluetooth from my phone (OnePlus13) or music player (TempoTech V6) for good quality wireless audio. I read an online review that said the D6s was all most people would need as a DAC. I agree with that and as the DO100 Pro is an Aoshida spec'd D6s with an HDMI addition and wave style display at the front; that review still applies, from my experience.I do prefer the D6s styling but if you want a DAC to handle your TV's HDMI audio, this will handle it along with other types of input. The styling of the front panel isn't bad but I just prefer the look of the D6s.Just buy one or the other of these two DACs. I haven't regretted either. The value to performance ratio can't be beaten in my experience. As with all SMSL products, the DO100 Pro

No output sound
Unit display and functionality seems ok but there is no sound output through the RCA connection. Tried both usb and blue tooth, no joy. Returning for refund.

Excellent..I’m impressed.
For the price this DAC performs way above its price. Using NAD Pre / Power, AE Floorstanding Speakers fed by 4TB HD through laptop foobar.Everything was easy to set up. HDMI /ARC…Bluetooth.. worked straight away / after pairing. USB after a bit of tweaking in foobar preferences and SMSL’s ASIO (downloaded and installed from their website pre installation)DSD impressive, MQA (Marvin Gaye - What’s Going On) impressive.I’m happy !Edit: After a few days working perfectly fine ARC connection has stopped working for no reason whatsoever ? Who to contact for support ? I’ll try a different cable and return the item if that fails to work.Ordered new cable..but decided just to use the Optical connection for the sound from my TV.

Sounds great, lots of connecting options, a bit fussy about some sources.
Used this to connect TV/bluray to stereo HiFi setup. Also using bluray player to play CDs as my CD player doesn't fit with new room layout. It sounds great over HDMI for video and decently recorded CDs (early 90s/late 80s ones).Connecting old samsung blu ray player through coax there was small dropouts every minute or so, increasing PLL setting to nine helped a bit, but it could do with going higher, apparently the ESS DAC chip doesn't like some digital outputs much.Optical from sony TV worked as well, but I settled for HDMI ARC as the TV output 44.1 khz CD format which was my priority.Bluetooth works well too.(Edit: Also the coax makes a cracking noise when getting no input)
