Zelda Ocarina 12 Hole Alto C with Song Book (Songs From the Legend of Zelda) with Display Stand Protective Bag

I got this as a Mother's Day gift for my mom and she loved it! It's a little confusing at first but I believe that's the case with most musical instruments. After reading through some of the music and getting to know the ocarina and how it works we were able to almost perfectly replicate the music from the ocarina in the Legend of Zelda! It's definitely worth the price considering everything it comes with and also because it's made of a ceramic type material

Good material quality. Plays well for a decorative piece. Feels nice to hold and has a good weight to it. Perfect gift for anyone who loves zelda. book is full of memorable songs.

I have 20+ years playing ocarinas and 10+ years teaching the instrument. I bought one of these for the purpose of testing the tuning and playability so I could share my findings with the online community.This ocarina is one of the best selling beginner ocarinas on Amazon, but I noticed there are many reviews saying it plays out of tune, while other customers report a positive experience.Using a tuner, I discovered that the ocarina I received plays in B Major, not C Major. If you try to use extra breath to force it to play in C, it will sound very out of tune and raspy. If you use the right amount of breath (playing in B), the tone is very nice throughout the entire range. I was able to get the lowest notes with the sub holes in tune pretty easily, and with a little extra back pressure, the highest notes sounded clear too.If you intend to play music with others or perform with accompaniment, it would probably be better to get an instrument that, in addition to having a nice tone, is also concert tuned, such as the Night by Noble plastic in C. Technically, you can play in any key, because the ocarina is fully chromatic, but a B Major tuning isn’t convenient most of the time.If you’re planning to play by yourself, the key doesn’t matter so much, so you’ll probably like it just fine. The book that comes with it has quite a few songs from the Zelda games and is easy to follow since it includes both tabs and standard notation.

It's a cool recorder / flute. My son hasn't stopped playing it. He wants to be Link. He's already mastered archery and horseback riding. Now it's the Ocarina.

Stand is useless. Nothing to hold it. Just falls off

Didn't come with the music booklet contacted seller and they resolved the issue promptly. Seems a fine product.
