I have been using standard off the shelf garden variety solar lights purchased from my local home improvement store to add light around my patio pond and they have worked OK. However I was intrigued when I read the description on these particular lights because it simulated a flame look. It is made of plastic like my other standard version but the actual look is much better and doesn't give it that impression although the weight is light. It comes with 4 sectional pieces that allows you to choose how long a shaft you want the lamp to sit on up to 24" inches. These flame-like versions are more than twice the size/height (~2ft high) and are relatively massive compared to the standard version. I hung mine up for the application out by my pond so I didn't use the shaft poles but again it show the versatility of this flame-like look and style. The look the LED light gives is pretty amazing as it simulates a flickering flame. The video doesn't give it full justice but it was a very pleasant surprise. Watch the reflection on the stairs. :-) I have not had the chance to test out the solar charging performance to see how well it matches the specifications yet but I am really impressed so far because after the very first night of use I went outside in the morning at 5am after a night in the low 30's DegF and the lamp was still flickering so that was 11 hours of use!

update: Not sure when this happened, but I noticed that the light no longer works on 8/11 so it didn't last longer than a couple of months.This is a cool little lamp. It actually looks like a candle of some sort is burning on the inside. I have had it in the backyard for two nights now and when my husband gets up to work out at 5 am it is still going strong. The solar panels seem to be doing the trick and this is a great decorative lamp. It has a hook on the top so you can actually hang it, which I ended up doing. It also comes with a stake so you can put it anywhere in the yard where you get a lot of sunlight.

These lamps worked for about a week and were very nice...then died and never worked again. I ordered 4 initially and 3 died within a week. The seller does not except returns after 30 days, but there was a warranty which the seller did send 3 replacements. Once again, after a week those 3 died and the 4th from the original order died too.I have tried moving the lamps so they get as much as 12 hours of sunlight per day, but they are dead.I am going to pursue a refund as I believe this product should not even be sold....but not hopeful I will receive it.I highly recommend not purchasing this product.

I loved the flaming glow from this lantern, however one rain shower and it quite working. I've tried many remedies, to get the top to stay sealed/glued down, so there can be contact made so the lights work but my remedies only worked for one night and it stopped....so disappointing because it's such a neat lantern and look!! They sent a replacement, but it only worked one night.

Had an issue, the lanterns stopped working after a couple of months but the customer service was amazing, they replaced the lanterns asap. Love these lanterns, they look soooo real!!

Looks great and works perfectly. Only qualm is that the little solar panel on top came unglued. Still works though.

Bought these, loved them, almost bought more and then boom, totally stopped working. I had noticed that the light wasn't lasting quite as long but was hoping it was just sun position changing, but alas. Dead as a doornail after about 2 months.

These are great for the 2 weeks they work. I bought two lights and they both stopped working within days of each other. They get plenty of light as all of my other solar lights in the same location work night after night. Don't waste your money.
