Not just for dandruff!
I consistently saw this shampoo backed up by dermatologists for hair growth.I have had 20 years of hair loss. I used to have thick hair, but ended up having so little hair that gave easy views of my scalp. I used this shampoo for almost a year before I knew it was not in my head that I finally was growing hair back. I feel way more confident now, and don’t feel like I have to constantly fluff up my hair. My hair isn’t back to the way it was in my early teens, but that wasn’t the goal. I have health issues and take hormones, so I do not expect my hair to go back to before. I am 2 years in on using this shampoo, and I love it. I notice a difference in my scalp when I run out and use different shampoo.I also love the Conditioner. It is silky without weight, and it goes along nicely with the shampoo.I do not recommend the pre-shampoo, if you are looking at that. It is incredible difficult to apply, to use, and to rinse.

Excellent shampoo!
I purchased this for myself and my son. My son gets dandruff and he can use this once a week and regular shampoo the other days of the week that he washes his hair and no dandruff!! I purchased for myself because I’ve always had thin hair that didn’t want to grow and the last few years it was severely chemically damaged and pulled out by tying it up on top of my head.. I had read that the active ingredient in this shampoo could help with hair growth by improving scalp health. I’ve been using this for about four months now 2-3 times a week and I can honestly say my hair is growing. The new growth seems to be healthier and stronger as well. It by no means completely transformed my hair from fine to thick luscious locks but I do believe it was the factor that got my hair growing back in where it was pulled out and it does seem healthier.

Shampoo that solved a decade-long problem
I really thought that dandruff was just something that you had to live with if you were cursed with it. Waking up because your head itches — it's been a couple of days since you washed your hair, after all, why wouldn't it — and throwing on a light top because something dark would show the flakes is just normal, right? No, turns out that most anti-dandruff shampoos just suck. Dandruff (and seborrheic dermatitis if you have that) is a fungus. This shampoo with a name that sounds like it was crafted in an apothecary or something has an anti-fungal ingredient in it, so unlike Head & Shoulders or any of those others that don't, it actually works. It honestly blew my mind when both my dandruff and the flaking around my nose and brows cleared up. I cried. This is something I've dealt with since I was a teenager and I could have been clear all this time if I'd known. By the way: if you end up with a nail fungus (go to the nail salon often enough and you probably will) this can clear that up, too. Just sand the nail down with a file and dunk your finger or toe in for a few minutes. It'll probably take a few treatments to get all of it, but you don't have to live with THAT either. This is by far the most effective product that I regularly buy. I'm so used to being let down by skincare in particular that finding something that works this well is shocking.

Resolution after twenty years
PreambleI've had flaking dandruff since adolescence, something which has always been problematic on account of my preference for black shirts. I've tried several different products over time, variants of Head and Shoulders, tar-based T-Gel, but I never had any success. I had long, long since accepted my fate, occasionally brushing off my shoulders or the back of my jacket when it looked a bit flaky, which was all the time. This rid me of it in two washes. I don't know what exactly inspired me to try an alternate anti-dandruff shampoo. I'm in my mid-thirties and I've been trying to address a lot of problems which have accumulated over the years, so maybe it's an extension of that. Whatever the case, I'm very happy that I did, and the only negative emotion I have attached to it is that I didn't do this twenty years ago. I went through my entire adolescence and twenties and early thirties with flaky shoulders, when I could have fixed it in half of a week.DetailsAt present my hair is much longer than usual, about three inches, and it was winter when I was using it so the weather was a bit dry. My hair is oily; I need to wash it every other day or it looks greasy, especially when it is longer. I don't usually have an itchy or dry scalp. I've been using this for about a month now, each time I shower, every other day on average, and have noticed no drop in efficacy. I'll work it deep into my hair/scalp right as I start showering and leave it there while I go through the rest of my routine, so ~2-4 minutes, before washing it out. I've been using conditioner, a couple different kinds, and with that I leave in for about 1 minute right after I wash out the Nizoral. It isn't a very viscous shampoo, it flows readily, but make sure you shake it thoroughly before first use or it will be quite runny. I would describe it as having a neutral smell, not really noticeable.I've heard that it's a good idea to alternate weeks between two kinds of anti-dandruff shampoo, so I might do that just to be sure it remains effective, but for now I'll continue to use it on my semi-daily schedule.ConclusionStrong recommendation on this one, especially if you've tried other solutions without result. I can't believe I've put up with dandruff for so long when there was a shampoo from the '70s that could have let me avoid literal decades of self-consciousness. I definitely plan on buying it again.EDIT: After using this for more than six months, it remains effective. However, I would say that, as recommended on the bottle, you should use this to get the dandruff under control, then use a regular shampoo from that point forward, restarting the Nizoral when necessary. I've been alternating between Head and Shoulders and this product with only a very minor return of dandruff, nothing like before, so I'm going to ease off and use it only once a month or so.

Dandruff and hair loss
Overall my hair has gone dandruff free, I've had this problem for some years now and this product has gotten rid of that completely. My main issue is that the hair loss after using this product is pretty high, it may vary from person to person. In my experience just running my fingers through my hair will lead to strands of hair just falling out. I think this product is great but if you run into this issue to you should switch products!
