Fire TV Cube | Hands-free streaming device with Alexa, Wi-Fi 6, 4K Ultra HD

So I bought the recently launched Fire TV Cube. It is by far the fastest streaming media player. The speaker (Amazon Echo built-in) sounds a lot better too and allows me to stream hands-free. The first thing I noticed was how much faster everything is from launching apps to navigating apps. The super resolution upscaling provides enhanced picture quality by seamlessly converting HD content into 4K for greater detail, contrast, and clarity. It's also really nice looking device and fits perfectly in my living room.The usb port and hdmi in (for connecting to an existing set top box) are two outstanding additions to this device. If you are deciding which Fire TV product to buy and wants the fastest one this is the one to get.You do need to still buy hdmi cable though as it is needed for the setup but it is super easy to install. Overall happy with the purchase.

Dont believe me look at attached video.The alexa voice commands stop working after 20 days, just after expiry of refund period to initiate a return.Amazon this is YOUR product please take responsibility and refund my money.Every time see the device, get reminded that paid for most premium device but got a device more useless compared to firetv stick.More points to considerMost wasteful of hardware resources as the IR blaster can not NOT control anything else (like AC, cooler etc) other than TV or AVR.Again Most NOT wasteful of hardware resources as the music playback needs TV to be switched ON to waste power.The satelite cable TV setup asks for switching to hdmi on the screen where as it is connected to hdmi input of firetv cube, effective rendering it useless. Can NOT not setup satelite cable and can NOT not use it as advertised.No NOT proper customer support from device, it simply says contact customer support instead of sending bug report or follow-up. No NOT mention of any error ID. Just look at amazon forums and all problems faced by users and how many of them are resolved. NOT pathetic customer support, reply for all problems faced is just restart of device. Which does not NOT work.And lastly, tried all the solutions like restarting, checking internet connection, restarting remote, checking updates but none NOT worked.Amazon please help me with refund.

As a Amazon Firetv stick device, it's very good. The interface is super fast, there's no lag at all. The picture quality delivered is amazing. Very versatile device since it can connect to a Bluetooth speaker and you can control it's volume through the Firetv cube remote too (which wasn't possible with a Firetv stick). The voice control for apps is good, but practically I prefer using the remote instead of yelling at the TV. At times it's convenient to play and pause movies using the voice control. But frankly it's a mixed bag. Also didn't really find Alexa very smart or engaging. This was my first encounter with a 'Smart Device', a little underwhelming kind of an experience. Most stupid part is Alexa most of the times searches and plays a song by the names when it doesn't understand what you have said. Also amazon could have put a better speaker in it considering the cost. It doesn't work like a standalone Alexa smart speaker. Switches on the TV for music everytime.But overall love the product. The build quality is amazing. Wish Amazon updates and upgrades the Alexa to a much smarter version in the future.

If you are using some kind of streaming device and you have Dolby Atmos & Dolby Vision supported TV and Audio Systems installed, then you must upgrade with this new 3rd gen Fire cube.Sound is top class, it converts boring Stereo sound to Immersive Multichannel Sound. Best Video quality since it upscales HD video to 4K Dolby Vision. And above all, you get real hands free TV control.I had used AppleTV 4k, Nvidia 4k, Roku 4k pro, FireTV 4k max and a few others, among them Cube is best in all count.

Very slow, lot of Ads.Alexa useless

My purpose of buying this expensive streaming device was for living room home theatre having AVR- Dolby Atmos. It has restrictions in outputting Atmos sound in many apps including Disney, even many content from prime video doesn't output Atmos. Checked with apple TV app, it does output Atmos consistently. Unfortunately it doesnt support Apple music, we have to stick to prime music, which again doesn't support Atmos tracks which are listed in it. It's a shame that Amazon cube doesn't support premium audio from its own streaming apps. And it doesn't output Atmos if video output is not connected to 4k HDCP 2.2 compatible device. It will restrict output to Dolby digital 5.1. After all many people buy this device to make non smart device a smart one. It's universal that all 4k devices are smart, only people like me with FHD old TV and home theatre setup, who will buy this and it didn't serve my purpose of getting premium audio. The job done by this can be even done by my tatasky binge plus set top box. But above all its super fast and smooth, audio quality from stereo outputs like YouTube is awesome which it makes 5.1 channel upgrading. And it decodes ripped mkv large size uhd movies comfortably with Kodi app. It's mic is also super sensitive, listens even if we whisper Alexa. There are many goods and only big problem is not supporting Dolby Atmos in many apps.
