Works as it should and good quality
I needed a 50 amp outlet and this one worked perfectly. I really like how the wires go straight into the back of outlet and has very stout set screws for each. I didnt have to worry about stripping or breaking the screws off.

I guess it's a commodity product, but still, it's made well and easy to wire up. Used for receptacle for our new level II electric car charger.

NEMA 14-50 sockets standard for high power. This one is good for driers and ovens but not EV us
NEMA-14-50 sockets were originally aimed at high power 240V loads like driers ,stoves, kilns. These were usages where the devices only occasionally get unplugged maybe only a few hundred times ever. With the wide adoption for EV's the sockets can easily get many thousands of connect/disconnect operations in a few years. The design of the spring loading of contacts on these non industrial rated sockets can soon wear out causing arcing/ heating and are a potential fire hazard. If you use this for an EV don't unplug the EVSE leave it plugged in like a permanent fixture. Better yet buy an "industrial rated " 14-50 at about 8x the price.Check EV enthusiasts websites for recommended industrial grade alternatives. Even with the higher grade they may not last in very frequent unplugging. Many EVSE charge adapters (like Tesla's) monitor the connector pin temperature and shut off / throttle the charge if the pins get hot to reduce fire riskEnthusiast websites/youtube have pictures of Leviton and other basic brand melted 14-50 sockets from overuse.

Tesla outlet plug for garage is working flawlessly!
Installed this in our garage and it works perfectly. Please ensure that you hire an electrician or qualified installer to handle this task. We are charging both of our Tesla's from this plug (I have over 103,000 miles on my Model Y).
