The button is easily replaceable, and is simple, do yourself a favor, buy a plier and see for yourself. The XS does not have a push button btw, it operates more like a pair of tongue and groove channel locks. But it's not to gue and groove, it's proprietary

Q: Can someone tell me if this can help to twist open a 3" canning jar lid? I need help in opening jars.

Some workable answers already. I have used strap wrenches, although they are a little bit unwieldy. A large pair of these Cobra pliers would work, although it would likely damage the lid. Soft-jaw pliers would be better (I think that both Crescent and Knipex sell these). This inexpensive handheld item (search on Amazon) is supposed to good up to about 3": "Bottle Opener for Twist-Off Type Caps." The best choice, it appears to me, would be this inexpensive cabinet undermount unit that is supposed to be good up to 6" (and is rated at 4.8): "The Grip Jar Opener."

KNIPEX bulk tools will ship in either a box or a bag. Bulk products offer a cost savings to the end-user as the same tools on carded retail packaging will cost more. It is normal to have some play between the handles as this facilitates the adjustment of the pliers.

They are synthetic fur. My cats love them.
