Should have bought this years ago.
This thing is great at helping get the sheathing off the cables and makes it simple to collect the cut plastic bits as you go. I will buy another one when this one rusts out or goes dull.

It does that good depending on the size of cable you want to ...
I got this for just one reason, and that was for a means to cut cable insulation length-wise on cable. It does that good depending on the size of cable you want to cut length-wise. I do wish Knipex would have made this tool so that you could adjust the blade height. Because the blade height is fixed and not adjustable, it will only cut insulation length wise on cable that is large enough in diameter. If the cable is too small in diameter, then the tool won't cut the insulation length wise. For most cable, it will work, but on small sensor cables, it doesn't work. So if you have a proximity switch sensor cable that is 3-conductor, <= 18 Ga. conductors, then this probably won't work for that. Knipex should have made this tool so that the blade in it was height adjustable. Also, the blade does not appear to be removable at all. What that means is that when the blade gets dull or damaged, you will need to purchase a new tool completely.
