Yes it will. The resting position of the tripod will be in Landscape, as it holds the width of the ipad. But as you can see in the video you can Adjust it to stand in portrait. Just be weary , the tripod holds the ipad pro 12.9 securly but the tripod itself can be tipped over easier in portrait. (due to weight distribution).

Yes, it can only be mounted horizontally but you can loosen a small lever at the base and turn it vertical.

Yes, it can control start and stop for recording

Q: Will this fit an ipad pro 11?

When I ordered this, I received a tripod and an attachment that would fit a cell phone or iPad mini. I tried to return it, but the seller insisted on sending me the missing parts. It took a few weeks, but eventually I received a bracket that is large enough for an iPad Pro along with the missing remote. The extra time was because of the shipping time from China.
