These units are designed to eliminate ground loop hum between two electrical devices. What you are describing sounds more like RF interference that will only be cured by moving away from the source of the noise.

The way you describe sounds like it's the pedals or the cables that connect the pedals.This device was developed exactly to solve your problem (at least, it solved mine).However, I recommend you test all cables of the chain: plug one by one (guitar amp) and check if there's hum. If so, find another cable. If not, I'm almost sure it's the pedals.

That might be a problem with oxidation on the poteniometer. Have you tried using DeOxIt spray?

No. I use a TC G system with an Egnater Renegade 60 watt tube amp. going straight into the amp and I had HUM so I went to the four cable method , Still a problem better not much.. After reading I was advise that I could use stereo cables but would need a box to convert unbalanced to Balance. And that did to care of the unit but will not take care of the guitar. Pickup Hum from stratocasters is Normal. Use your gate to tame the hum on HD400.
