I've used this product for decades, BUT in the small 4oz bottles. Do your own math yourself and calculate your savings when you buy the gallon size and refil those little bottles! If you have the space - and the volume of use to get this gallon fullly savored in several years - invest in it. The quality is excellent; it livens up meats, in chiles and sauces. I do much of my cooking inside on stove or in oven, and this makes the kitchen feel/smell as though I'm grilling!

Excellent liquid smoke use it all the time

I make a lot of jerky, and have always used a real wood-fired smoker, but this takes a LOT of time and effort when dealing with lots of little strips of meat. The issue is all the attention it takes to constantly monitor the fire temp, smoke level, and check the jerky after a few hours to find and pull off the thinner pieces at the right point before they go too far.My oven has a dehydrator function, so I finally swallowed my pride and tried that with Liquid Smoke. After numerous comparison tests, I found that using this stuff at 1 oz per pound of meat in the marinade for two days prior to dehydrating the meat makes a decent and easy option. No, it is not quite as good as doing it the real way, but frankly, for the simplicity and ease of just using the oven, I am satisfied.
