I Have read that some PD converters are being sold online w/o serial numbers on them and are therefore not covered by warranty.  What about these?

I am in the market for something like this, too, but a Lithium version.  This is taken by copy and paste from the Progressive Dynamics, Inc web site in Marshall, MI, USA.

"Note: Progressive Dynamics Inc. converter chargers are being advertised on Amazon, Yahoo and Face Book under the name of Progressive International. This name is to imply that Progressive Dynamics is somehow involved with Progressive International and we are not. The real Progressive International sells RV kitchen products and not converter chargers. Progressive Dynamics and the real Progressive International only sell through authorized RV distribution companies and RV dealers."

I would suggest that if you buy what you believe to be a Progressive Dynamics, Inc product from Progressive International that you immediately contact Progressive Dynamics, Inc upon receipt at (269) 781-4241 to see if your serial number is covered under a Progressive Dynamics Inc warranty.  Forewarned is forearmed-trust but verify.

Is this converter considered a smart converter.

yes it is.I just installed mine and it works great.i got the pendant with mine and it showed that the charger went into boost mode for 6 hours after installation.it then switched to standard charge mode and charged for 30 hours on standard mode before it switched to standby mode.pendant light solid for boost mode,flashes every 2 to 3 seconds in standard mode and flashes every5 to six seconds in stand by mode.very easy to hook up.

I have a 30 amp 12 volt conveter in a1969 27' airstream can I replace it with a 45 amp

Can this replace the Magnatek 6345?

I used it to replace an original unit in a 1984 Tioga motorhome  several months ago. It is pretty much a separate unit. Your 110 comes in to your 110 circuit box/fuse box, then 110 feeds to this progressive unit to be reduced to 12 volts for charging the coach batteries (12 volt) and to power anything else 12 volt such as your lights and water pump. This is a modern up to date unit, and should replace any older unit.
