Very Good!
With much skepticism, I ate charcoal peanuts for the first time on a trip to Chiayi City, near Taiwan's west coast. "Charcoal peanuts? Sounds horrible..." I thought to myself. Charcoal is for burning, not eating, right? But I was wrong, so wrong. In fact, charcoal peanuts are absolutely delicious. If you thought truffles, dark chocolate, blackberries, and squid ink pasta were the only black foods worth eating, think again. When I try to explain charcoal peanuts to other Westerners they look at me like I'm insane. But I'm not. These things are so good.
