Solid Performance, Versatile Machete for Outdoor Adventures

The Black Legion Jungle Hunter Machete is a highly reliable tool that stands out for both its durability and versatility, making it an excellent choice for outdoor enthusiasts, hunters, campers, and survivalists alike. With an overall length of 25 inches and an 11-inch blade, this machete is built to tackle tough tasks in the wild. Whether you’re clearing trails, chopping wood, or facing dense vegetation, the Jungle Hunter is equipped to handle it all with ease. One of the standout features of this machete is its razor-sharp stainless steel blade. The blade effortlessly cuts through branches, bushes, and underbrush, ensuring you don’t waste time fighting through tough materials. The blade is coated with a non-reflective anodized black finish, which is not just visually appealing but also functional. This coating provides additional protection against corrosion, which is a crucial factor when using the tool outdoors in harsh weather conditions. Plus, it reduces glare, making it ideal for stealth operations or working in the bright sunlight. The blade’s sawback spine is an added bonus, increasing its versatility. In addition to its cutting ability, the sawback allows you to handle a wider range of tasks such as sawing through tougher materials or smaller branches. The unique cutout designs along the blade not only enhance the tool's aesthetic appeal but also help reduce the overall weight, making it easier to handle during extended use.Comfort and control are key when using any tool for a prolonged period, and the rubberized ABS handle of the Jungle Hunter does not disappoint. The handle provides a secure and ergonomic grip, ensuring you don’t lose control even when your hands get sweaty or wet. This is essential when working with a tool of this size, as it reduces the chances of hand fatigue and prevents slippage. Whether you're hacking through thick vines or using the machete for precise cuts, the handle offers the stability needed for maximum control. It’s a small detail, but it makes a significant difference in overall performance.Transport and storage are made easy thanks to the included nylon sheath and lanyard. The sheath provides an added layer of safety when the machete is not in use, preventing any accidental cuts or damage. It also makes it convenient to carry the tool, whether it’s clipped to your gear or slung over your shoulder. The lanyard ensures that the machete is always within reach, so you don’t have to waste time rummaging through your backpack when you need it the most.Overall, the Black Legion Jungle Hunter Machete delivers excellent performance for outdoor tasks at a reasonable price. Its solid build, multi-functional design, and reliable cutting power make it a great tool for a variety of outdoor applications. The only drawback I’ve noticed is that the blade could be a bit sharper for more intricate or delicate cutting tasks. However, for general outdoor use, this machete is more than capable of handling the job.If you're in need of a tough, dependable machete that will serve you well during camping trips, hiking adventures, or survival scenarios, the Jungle Hunter is a strong choice. It’s a tool that combines performance, durability, and ease of use, all while offering great value for the price.

Has Kept My Yard Raccoon-Free For Over a Year!

This is the story, as I wrote it a year ago:I’d known for years that raccoons used the area under my landlord’s old, junker car, which lay covered in tarps at the bottom of our long, steep driveway, as a hideout. I generally take a live-and-let-live attitude toward urban wildlife (except coyotes), and I never considered raccoons to be dangerous. Well, last night when I let Chase (my dog, a whippet, who is not at all ferocious) out to pee around 8pm, I heard him yelp and saw him sprinting toward me, with the raccoon chasing him! I thought it would stop when it saw me and I started yelling, but it clearly had no fear of humans and ran right past me and kept after Chase. It knocked him off his feet and suddenly they were both rolling in a ball, cartoon-style, and I could see it was as big as him, and he weighs 45 pounds! He was yelping and crying and just trying to escape. I was screaming and grabbing the raccoon’s tail and fur to try and pull it away, but it was not fazed. I didn’t think quickly enough to grab a rock, and I didn’t have shoes, so my hands were literally my only weapons. I tried unsuccessfully to grab one of the raccoon's legs to twist it and possibly break it, which is all I could think of to do. Unfortunately, I don’t think I did much damage to the raccoon, because it ignored me. Then my boyfriend ran out and also started yelling and kicking at it, and it finally seemed to realize that it was 3 against 1… it ran under a car and continued hissing and snarling at us. Chase ran back inside as soon as he got free, and I followed to make sure he was okay. By then all my neighbors had come outside, and they said the raccoon had escaped across the street.Luckily Chase has only minor flesh wounds (although he’s pretty stiff and sore this morning) and is up-to-date on all his shots, and we’ll call Animal Control today to hopefully come trap/kill the raccoon if it’s still in its usual spot or can otherwise be found. But I wanted to share the story to say that if you know of a raccoon lair, it’s probably best to call Animal Control* and get them out of there rather than let them be, because they can be very dangerous, especially if you have small children or animals. I know they will definitely kill outdoor cats, and if Chase had been smaller — or a human toddler — it could have killed him too. It was *that* big and vicious.TIME JUMP TO PRESENT DAY: After this happened, I bought the United Cutlery Savage Jungle Hunter machete for protection in case the raccoon came back, and I can now say that we never saw the raccoon again. That was over a year ago, so my only conclusion can be that the sight of my carrying the machete as I took Chase out to pee every night clearly terrified the raccoon so much that he has stayed far away from our house ever since. Five stars!

Very nice machete

So, honestly, too many zombie and apocalypse movies lead me to purchase this machete. Received it last night and went in the back yard to chop back some overgrowth and test it. Here is what I saw:It's a wonderful machete. It's strong. It chopped 1" to 1 1/2" branches without flexing like some other machetes I've bought. It just hacked right through them. And when I accidentally hit the tree stump or the dirt, same thing. No flexing. It is very sharp out of the box. I'm just a normal dude. I can sharpen my pocket knife half way descent, but I can't sharpen anything that sharp. The handle is comfortable while using. Which I was a bit surprised about because the handle looks like it's molded for a hand much larger than mine. I have normal guy hands, for a guy that does not work with his hands much, and the molded handle is just too large for me. When I started using it though, my grip slid up just a bit and I found it was really comfortable. Somewhere between two hundred and three hundred swings, with no gloves, and my hand is fine, where usually I would have rubbed the skin off in a spot. The back of the machete looks like it is a saw. It is not. Tried it anyway on a tree stump, nothing. Just for looks. The look has an intimidation factor. Because, let's face it, in some kind of apocolyptic situation people tend to lose their minds. We've all seen the movies. Well, when you pull this out that crazy dude is going to move on to the easier target just because it looks intimidating. So there, if the handle was better molded for my hand I would give this machete 5 stars, but as is, 4.5 stars.
